The Angel in the Stone was in fine company on the shortlist for the 2018 Highland Book Prize. It was a tremendous honour to be on the list, and a fantastic weekend at the Ullapool Book Festival in May 2018 for the awards presentation. The winner, Border, by Kapka Kassabova, is a deliciously-written exploration of the mysterious borderlands between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. I highly recommend it!
